There Is Forty Years Sake Of A Cup Of Coffee
In this series, there are the prints made by the artist Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin between 1999 and 2000 at the Wailing Workshop of Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts.
A Turkish proverb says: '' There are forty years sake a cup of coffee ''. She explaines the importance of coffee for Turkish people in 40 different gravures. Each piece tells a different concept about coffee. All parts 1/10. The gravures were placed between two glasses and framed.
The artist designed this series as 40 engravings, inspired by the Turkish proverb "A coffee has forty years of sake". The printing of each coffee cup was inspired by a thought or word about coffee in Turkish culture. Forty coffee engravings are displayed between two glasses and framed.
Some of the words are uttered in the Turkish "ceremony for asking for a girl", so that children do not drink coffee, etc. ... the artist looks at a cup from 40 angles and write words, these are hopeful, humorous and beautiful words. The artist recommends that art lovers who look at this work of art that tells of Turkish coffee culture should enjoy a cup of coffee.
